The rain kept us down for a few weeks, but we had enough good weather to make major progress on the #MadCountyBuild. There still isn’t anything that looks like a “house” yet, but we are getting soooo close.
When we purchased this property we knew cleaning up the land would be first to tackle. If you haven’t seen that video yet, you can on our You Tube channel named Marshall Remodel. Be sure and subscribe, because we are updating that regularly and you can see the progress in action.
The gravel driveway was installed shortly after and it has helped tremendously with access to the property. The initial drive into the property is pretty steep, so there was ZERO access when it rained.
Speaking of the steep driveway, we planned to have a shipping container delivered so that we would have storage during the build. Sadly, since it had to be delivered on a semi trailer that wasn’t an option with the way the road/drive grade ended up. So, we had to figure out a different option!
Paul managed to get a handful of food plots in last week… which he is very happy about. We are using the land as a hunting property and if you know our family that’s a big deal.
The latest news is that our septic perc test came back and we are ready to install a system. I think it’s going to feel like it’s moving faster in the next couple of weeks. We are finalizing the placement of the house, where the septic system will be, and working on our materials list. The house materials could be delivered as soon as next week!
Our kids are so excited to live on the “new property” as they call it. They all come alive when they get to roam and play outside. It’ll be such a treat watching them!
