Another week down at the build site! The weather took a crazy cold turn, and it got us a little nervous! So Paul has been working non-stop in order to be 100% ready for the concrete company to come out and pour the slab.
While we are calling this a self build, there are a few things that we contract out. One of them is the concrete floors. If you’ve ever worked with concrete you know that it’s a time sensitive project and there is no room for error. Top that with the fact that we have all of our plumbing and in floor heat running under the floor and it’s even less room for error! It absolutely requires a crew so we bid this job out. We are excited to work with this company and we’ll share more about them after the job is complete.
On the personal side of things, I had surgery Friday and I’m trying to recover quickly because ain’t nobody got time for Mama to be out of commission! My in laws were LIFESAVERS and have kept our 3 littles with them so that I can focus on rest. I’m taking full advantage of not having to leave my bed except for a snack or fresh water!
Thank you for following our journey. In case you didn’t know we also have a YouTube channel documenting this project. Head up to the top for links to all of our social profiles.
